We believe mini-grids are key to rural development!
While Uganda had 57% of the population with access to electricity in 2022, Uganda’s current level of rural electrification is significantly low. Only 8% of rural residences had grid connectivity, majority (28%) relying on solar lanterns, and less than 1% electrified through mini-grids.
ESMAP defines mini grids as electric power generation and distribution systems that provide electricity to just a few customers in a remote settlement or bring power to hundreds of thousands of customers in a town or city.
We want to do something that can contribute to having more mini-grids implemented. Our focus is on advisory and project management services.
We come along mini-grid companies, governments, development organisations, consulting companies, regulators, communities, to provide solutions and services which can enable them to implement mini-grids in a timely, efficiency and sustainable manner.
